Two Giant Losses

As a kid growing up in the '60's, Richard Pryor and Eugene McCarthy were two of the greatest teachers I ever had. Both men matched balls with intellect, and were genuine heroes because of it. Both were also men of peace. Four more American soldiers were senselessly killed in Iraq today. The work of Pryor & McCarthy is far from finished, as we are again in desperate need of leaders of their caliber...

Richard Pryor I think made me feel the laughter / tears equation more powerfully than anyone before or since.

Glad to read he had been reasonably happy in his declingin years.

Peace to him,

As a grade schooler in the 1970s, Pryor used to sorta scare me. But he was also instrumental in the breaking away from my father's supreme biggotry. What Pryor said never jibed with what Pops said; I trusted Pryor, instead.
