Just heard the news of the passing of my old friend Gary Rogers. I had a lot of fun with Gary back in the '80's when I lived in Champaign and Gary did a lot of live sound mixing for my old bands Turning Curious and Pop The Balloon. Gary was a great guy, a great soundman, and always a lot of laughs. Another rock and roll "lifer" has left us way too soon...

I worked along side of Gary for many a night for many a year at Gunther Murphy's. Haven't seen him in some time but often thought about him. He was ALWAYS kind, nice, respectful and fun to me & held a place in my heart & mind. Cheers Gary! L. Joanna
Good to find your blog, Steve, but under sad circumstances. I learned today of Gary's passing from Paul Chastain. He did sound and managed our band Nines in the early 1980s, and we were housemates at one time. He was a great guy; lots of fun memories. Here's to you, Gary.
Gary was the sound man for the Muckbros and was loved by all the band members. His talent and skill certainly made them sound the best. Beyond that Gary was a great friend and we all had great laughs together. This is a true tradgedy.
When I was in Big Hello, PurrBox and the Millions Gary did osund for my bands countless times. I always liked him, and how loud he wanted my guitar.
