TV/MUSIC: T.V. On TV

You bet that was Tom Verlaine, adding subtly brilliant trademark guitar lines to the Patti Smith Group's performance of "Redondo Beach" last night on Late Night With Conan O'Brien. Verlaine was a little hard to recognize as he performed seated in front of his amp wearing big black sunglasses and a hoodie pulled way up covering his head, looking more like a member of Fifty Cent's crew than the boho guitar legend that he is. But it was definitely him.

Maybe if Verlaine claimed Patti Smith was his "sister", people might notice or care.

Patti's sister? Screw that. If he wants attention, he has the TRUTH on his side, and he need only use it. Just 2 words: LANDERS SISTERS!
What's that sound? VH1 Behind The Music calling Tom Verlaine...

Aye, if Tom wanted to be noticed (or cared about) he might consider eschewing the subtly brilliant and go back to the old fashioned obnoxiously brilliant...

Speaking of 50 Cent, he did a very uninspiring performance last night on Dave... but not nearly as horrid as Franz Ferdinand's on Craig. Turns out the Scottish are only good for their Scotch.
